Nostalgia can be a jerk when it comes to video games sometimes

With no new games that seemed to interest me and not to mention the lack of funds I decided to go through my collection of games. After a few minutes I finally picked Mass Effect 2 but alas it just wasn’t meant to be, saddened by the turn of events I picked up Final Fantasy XXII. It seemed like the second obvious choice considering that the remake was just announced so all those nostalgic feeling came racing back to me. So I went about setting up my PS2 and popped in the disk and as I started watching the intro those nostalgic feeling kinda went away and got replaced by this ugly and weird feeling that is hard to describe but I felt like I was seeing on screen didn’t compare to the memories I had or remember when I first played the game so many years ago. Not sure if this was due to me having been tainted seen the trailer for the game, playing games on my PS4 and going back to the PS2 or simply playing it on a modern TV. It took me a few hours to transition and ignore those thoughts and as I did I began to enjoy the game more and more and while I still have this need to see if I can help improve the quality of the images I see, I’m no longer bothered or occupied by those thoughts and simply enjoying the game for what it is, a great PS2 title that is worth playing.

About mherrera697

I've been gaming for many years now from the early days of the Nintendo all the way up to now. I was part of a site for a number of years but decided to venture out on my own. I created this site to see how far I could go on my own.
